Buying to a Standard

Writing LV 312 into an RFQ so the quotes come back comparable

Most harness-tape quotes are hard to compare because the request for quotation named a standard but not the lines inside it. LV 312 grades a tape on three separate axes, and a quote answers whichever one the buyer happened to mention. Here is what to send, what to insist on getting back, and where the comparison usually breaks.

Put these lines in the request for quotation

  • The temperature class your drawing names, or the zone the bundle runs through if the drawing leaves it open
  • The abrasion class and the mandrel diameter it is measured on
  • Whether noise damping is required, and at which contact point
  • Any flame or halogen clause, quoted from the drawing rather than paraphrased
  • Bundle diameter, cable-jacket material and the wrap overlap your work instruction specifies
  • Width, annual volume, destination and the date the part has to be released

Insist on these in the answer

  • One named tape model, not a whole range
  • The temperature class for that model, and the report it comes from
  • The abrasion class with the mandrel diameter printed next to it
  • The standard and its edition, because editions change what the class means
  • The certificate of the plant that actually makes the tape
  • The change-notification procedure, so the class cannot move after release

Where the comparison breaks

What you receiveWhy it is not comparableWhat to ask instead
“Meets LV 312”The standard covers three axes and several classes; this sentence commits to none of them.Which class, on which axis, from which report?
“Abrasion Class C”The same tape reports a different class on a 5 mm and a 10 mm mandrel.Class C on which mandrel diameter?
A temperature range with no classYour drawing and your customer’s audit both reference the class, not a range. The class for the model quoted.
A data sheet covering a whole rangeCarrier, adhesive and class are fixed together for each tape model; a range sheet lets a buyer mix attributes that never coexist in one roll. The data sheet for the one tape model being offered.
Temperature classRangeWhere the harness runsHow buyers search for it
T1−40 °C … +85 °CPassenger cabin and interior loomsT1 rated harness tape · 85C harness tape
T2−40 °C … +105 °CEngine-bay periphery, deep dashboardT2 temperature class tape · 105C rated cloth tape
T3−40 °C … +125 °CEngine-bay coreT3 high-temp wire tape · 125C harness tape
T4−40 °C … +150 °CAgainst the engine, turbo or exhaustT4 rated cloth tape · 150C heat resistant tape

Temperature class is one axis only. Abrasion and noise damping are graded separately, so a high temperature class implies nothing about either — and a bare letter in a document is ambiguous until the supplier says which axis it belongs to. How these grades are made and tested is published by the manufacturer.

Certifications & Compliance

Third-party certified for automotive, electronics & textile supply

Our management systems and materials are independently audited and tested. Certificates and test reports are available on request for qualified buyers.

IATF 16949

IATF 16949:2016, held by our manufacturer Anhui Yijiayi Technology Co., Ltd · Certificate number CB02157 · IATF registration 0589406 · Issuing body TÜV Saarland Certification GmbH · Date of issue 2025-11-20 · Valid until 2028-11-19 · Scope: design and manufacture of adhesive tapes, with product design responsibility · Site: No. 92 Liuwan Road, Economic Development Zone, Mingguang, Chuzhou, Anhui, China · IATF USI 6G4 A59. EJOY (HK) is the export and sales entity and does not hold this certificate itself.

ISO 9001

GB/T 19001-2016 / ISO 9001:2015 · Certificate number R30025Q10013R0S · Issued by the Anhui Institute of Quality and Standardization · Holder Anhui Yijiayi Technology Co., Ltd. · Scope: production of cloth-backed pressure-sensitive tape · First issued 2023-05-23, current issue 2025-01-21, valid until 2026-05-22 · That expiry date has passed and the renewed certificate has not been issued yet, so we do not present ISO 9001 as a current certification — the IATF 16949 certificate above covers the quality management system and runs to 2028-11-19 · Verifiable at cnca.gov.cn.

UL 510A

UL Recognized Component · UL file number E544340 · US certificate UL-US-2552528-0, category OARC2 · Canadian certificate UL-CA-2539592-0, category OARC8 (Miscellaneous Tape Certified for Canada) (Miscellaneous Tape, Component) · Standard ANSI/CAN/UL 510A:2023 · Report reference E544340-20250203 · Issued 2025-02-05 · Type designation Z1V020, fibre backing with acrylic adhesive — this record covers that type only · Recognized components are incomplete in certain constructional features and are intended for installation in end equipment · The Certificate of Compliance does not itself authorise use of the UL Recognized Component Mark; that authorisation comes from the Follow-Up Services page · Verifiable on UL Product iQ.

UL 94 V-0

Not a certificate we hold. Grades are made to meet UL 94 V-0, and the test report for the model quoted is supplied on request. The UL 510A record above is a component recognition under that standard and is not a UL 94 V-0 classification.

OEKO-TEX Standard 100

OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, issued by Shirley Technologies Limited (Manchester) · Certificate 11-61190 (test report 80879), scope: bleached and washed woven fabric of 100% polyester filament yarn, valid until 2026-11-20 · Certificate 11-67399 (test report 80880), scope: bleached and washed woven fabric of 100% recycled polyester filament yarn and recycled polyester/recycled polyamide, valid until 2027-04-21 · Both are Product Class I (baby articles), Annex 6 · These certificates cover the woven base fabric, not a finished adhesive tape — ask which fabric a given tape is built on.

GRS 4.0

Global Recycled Standard 4.0 · Scope certificate ITS-TE-00038885-GRS-03588000 · Issued by Intertek, licensed by Textile Exchange (CB-ITS) and accredited by ANAB (0204) · Textile Exchange ID TE-00038885 · Issued 2025-12-18, valid until 2026-12-17 · Scope: undyed and dyed woven fabrics of 100% recycled post-consumer polyester; processes covered are pre-treatment, washing/laundering and finishing · A scope certificate is not proof that delivered goods are GRS certified — that needs a transaction certificate (TC) covering the shipment, which we apply for on request.

RoHS / REACH

RoHS and REACH declarations are issued per model, each with its revision date and the material or product range it covers. Tell us the model and we send the current declaration; we do not publish a blanket compliance statement for the range.

About the validity dates above. Each entry shows the certificate we hold today and the date it runs to. If that date has already passed when you read this, the renewal simply has not been published on this page yet — email anhuiyijiayi@gmail.com and we send the current copy, with its certificate number and scope, for the model or material you are buying. We would rather you ask than assume a date on a web page is current.
