This is the single most repeated mistake in interior NVH sourcing. Both feel soft in the hand on the buying desk. Only one of them is still soft after a summer in a dashboard.

For a harness or trim contact point that has to stay quiet for the life of the vehicle, buy PET fleece. Foam is defensible only for a one-off repair or a cosmetic pad that nobody will revisit.

Foam takes a compression set: once it is crushed between two parts it does not spring back, so it stops absorbing movement and the rattle returns. A lofted PET fleece keeps its recovery, which is why OEM interior looms use it.
19 mm covers most trim clips and contact points; 9 mm is usual for wire looms behind the dash. Tell EJOY the contact point and we recommend a width and send samples.
