Use nickel-copper conductive fabric tape when you need to wrap connectors, flex cables or tight radii, because the woven backing is conformable and conducts on the x, y and z axes through a conductive adhesive. Choose copper foil when you need the lowest possible resistance on a flat surface at high frequency, accepting that foil creases and does not follow contours. Many assemblies use fabric tape for connectors and gaskets and copper foil on flat boards.
Specify the required shielding effectiveness in dB and frequency range, the maximum acceptable contact resistance, the substrate you are bonding to, the width and format (roll or die-cut gasket), and any RoHS or REACH declarations required. Contact-resistance and shielding data are grade-dependent and supplied on request for the exact construction.
